In the village where I grew up, when droughts were at their worst – I brought rain. My powers were seen as a gift. But here, we keep our gifts a secret. ❞

↳ “We live in an age of darkness. A world full of fear, hate and intolerance. But in every age, there are those who fight against it. Charles Xavier was born into a world divided. A world he tried to heal. A mission he never saw accomplished. It seems it’s the destiny of great men to see their goals unfulfilled. Charles was more than a leader, more than a teacher. He was a friend. When we were afraid, he gave us strength. When we were alone, he gave us a family. He may be gone, but his teachings live on through us. His students. Wherever we may go, we must carry on his vision. And that is a vision of a world united.” — Ororo Munroe, X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
Truth, perception...we've saved the world - - worlds, even - time and time again. That's the truth. That's what we do. But the perception is that we're freaks, or worse. That we're Magnetos waiting to happen. We've been taking it on the chin so long, just trying to keep from being wiped out, I think we'have forgotten that we have a purpose. I know the rest of the world has forgotten. The point is simply this - - we need to get into the world. Saving lives, helping with disaster relief...we need to present ourselves as a team like any other. Avengers, Fantastic Four- - they don't get chased through the streets with torches - Cyclops

“ I’ve been a thief, a goddess, and X-Man, and a queen. And yet, I somehow, I always end up in a sewer under New York City.”

“I am a woman, a mutant, a thief, an X-Men, a lover, a wife, a queen. I am all these things. I am Storm, and for me, there are no such things as limits.”

Some people are warriors, darlin’— born to kill. That’s me. And some exist to show us there’s a better way. That’s you.
There’s so much beauty in you, ‘Roro. It’d be a shame to spoil it for the likes of her.
